47,000 security professionals will ensure the safety of the XXXI Summer Olympics and Paralympics in Rio de Janeiro.
The security officers have participated in special programs and about 100 police officers were sent abroad to learn about the European Games, the Tour de France and other large international competitions and conferences, as Andrei Rodrigues special safety secretary, noted. “Brazil is ready to host the Games in terms of safety. 47,000 security officers will ensure the safety of participants and guests”, Rodrigues said.
The 2016 Rio Olympics will be the 31st Summer Olympic Games. Their opening ceremony will take place in the legendary “ Maracana” stadium of Rio de Janeiro on August 5. From August 5 to 21 within 17 days 10.500 athletes from 205 countries of the world will compete for a collection of 306 medals. The Olympic Games will be held in 33 venues of four regions of Rio; Copacabana, Maracana, Deodoro and Bara.
