The Armenia team was stronger than the Slovenia team, 3:1, in the 6th round of the European Team Chess Championship being held in Batumi, Georgia.
Gabriel Sargsyan and Hayk Martirosyan won while Levon Aronyan and Hrant Melkumyan ended their matches with a draw.
The Armenia team has 9 points and shares the 3-5 places with Ukraine and England. The leader, Russia, has scored 11 points and Germany going on the second position has 10 points.
The Armenia women’s team won 2.5:1.5 Latvia. Elina Danielyan and Maria Gevorgyan celebrated victories, Lilit Grigoryan tied a game and Siranush Ghukasyan lost.
The women’s team shares 4-8 positions with 8 points.
In round 7 which will be played on 31 October the Armenia team will face England and the women’s team – Serbia.
