Davit Ovasapyan (130 kg), bronze medalist of the U23 Senior World Greco-Roman Wrestling Championship in Budapest, Hungary, summed up his performance in an interview with journalists.
“I had prepared well for this championship and left in anticipation of a victory but something lacked. I must improve myself more,” the wrestler said.
Speaking about his rival, Georgian Zviadi Pataridze, Davit Ovasapyan said the following, “He is a very strong and titular wrestler. I had prepared properly for a match with him but it wasn’t enough. Next time I will train more in order to improve my result.”
Davit Ovasapyan had started the struggle from the 1/8 finals and after having two wins had lost 1:4 to Georgian Zviadi Pataridze in the semifinal. In the bout for the bronze medal the Armenian wrestler had won 5:5 Kazakh Mansur Shadukayev.
The Armenia U23 Greco-Roman team had taken part in the World Championship with 9 wrestlers. Besides Davit Ovasapyan, Armen Melikyan (60 kg) had also become a medalist winning a champion title.
