The official website of the National Olympic Committee of Armenia continues the project, “Road to Rio”, before the start of the 31st Rio Summer Olympic Games where it will tell about the athletes representing Armenia at the Olympics, and their photos made by photographer Hakob Berberyan specially for the “Road to Rio” project.
The next hero of our project is Boxer Narek Abgaryan who was born in Ejmiatsin in 1992. Narek performs in the 52kg weight class. Like the other boxers of the Armenian Boxing Team, Narek has conquered an Olympic qualification during the Qualification Tournament in Samsun Turkey. He isn’t the only boxer in his family. His father, uncle and brother have also had interest in boxing. Boxing is not just a sport for the Armenian athlete, in his opinion everything he has achieved in life is thanks to boxing.
