The Armenian Freestyle Wrestling Youth Championship drew to a close at the Republican Palace of Culture and Sport of the Deaf.

In the second competition day champion titles were given to Mkhitar Grigoryan (55kg), Ashot Velitcyan (66kg), Sargis Hovsepyan (84kg) and Hovhannes Maghakyan (120kg).
“This championship was full of surprises. Some athletes lived up to our expectations but there were weight classes where 4-5 athletes were equally strong. We are planning to take part in two international tournaments”, the head coach of Armenia’s freestyle wrestling youth team, Avetik Vardanyan, said to ANOC press service.
On the eve Hayk Badalyan (50kg), Gevorg Tadevosyan (60kg), Tigran Mnatcakanyan (74kg) and Razmik Poghosyan (96kg) had been crowned champions.
Before the European Championship which this year will be held in Romania, the team we’ll have 3 training camps.
