The 2016 European Figure skating Championships have started in Bratislava, Slovak Republic.
In the first day of competition Armenia’s representative Anastasia Galustyan took the 16th place in Short Program earning 48, 93 points. Russia’s Evgenia Medvedeva (Babasyan) scored the highest points in Short Program (72, 55points).
36 figure skaters take part in the women’s competition.
At the European Figure Skating Championships, Armenia is represented by Slavik Hayrapetyan, Anastasia Galustyan and Tina Garabedian/Simon Senecal ice dancing pair.
Anastasia Galustyan has a World Championship qualification and Slavik Hayrapetyan will compete at the European Championships for conquering a World Championship qualification. In case of obtaining a qualification in Short Program, Tina Garabedian/Simon Senecal ice dancing pair will also have a chance to represent Armenia at the World Championship which will be held in Boston, USA.
