The Armenia team ended 2:2 the confrontation with Ukraine at the European Team Chess Championship underway in Batumi, Georgia.
Armenian team member Hrant Melkumyan who played on the third board, won while Hayk Martirosyan suffered defeat.
Levon Aronyan, leading player of the Armenia team, and Gabriel Sargsyan tied their matches. In the previous three rounds the Armenia team had won the Norway, Croatia and Czech Republic teams and now shares the 1-4 places with 7 points.
The Armenia women’s team drew the round with Spain. Lilit Mkrtchyan and Siranush Ghukasyan tied their games, Anna Sargsyan won and Elina Danielyan lost.
After the 4th round the Armenia women’s team shares the 3-8 places with 6 points.
