At the World Gymnastics Championship in Shtuttgart, Germany, Artur Davtyan won a Tokyo 2020 qualification in the all-around event after which he summed up his performance in a conversation with the ANOC press service.
“To be honest I’m not pleased with my performance. I had gaps both in the second jump of the vault exercise and parallel bars. I failed to do what I was ready for. I was in no mood. Of course, I’m very glad I have won a qualification and will participate in my third Olympic Games. Here the most important was to obtain a qualification.” Davtyan said.
It is noteworthy Davtyan learned he had won a qualification from the ANOC press service.
“Actually, yesterday when we were talking with my coaches they said that the points I had scored would secure me a qualification by 99 percents. But, as I said, I was in a bad mood and I went to bed without seeing the final list. And in the morning your call woke me up and I learned the news.” the gymnast said laughing.
