Armenia won two medals in the super heavyweight class (+109 kg) of the World Weightlifting Championship ended in Thailand.

Gor Minasyan, Rio 2016 Olympic silver medalist, became a world silver medalist while Ruben Aleksanyan deserved a bronze medal.
Gor Minasyan scored a total of 460 kg (212+248) and 2019 European bronze medalist Ruben Aleksanyan – 437 kg (192+245).
Minasyan also won a silver medal in the snatch and clean and jerk. Ruben Aleksanyan was the 6th in the snatch and in the clean and jerk he won a small bronze medal.
The Armenia weightlifting team ended its performance at the World Championship with four medals of a total result – two gold, one silver and one bronze medal.
The Armenia team placed 2nd conceding only to China which won five medals.
