Russian Musa Evloev shared his impressions after becoming a two-time world wrestling champion at 97 kg.
In the final of the World Championship underway in Kazakh capital Nur-Sultan the Russian wrestler had to wrestle against Rio 2016 Olympic gold medalist, three-time world and four-time European champion Artur Aleksanyan who refused to fight in the final match because of an injury and won a silver medal.
"I was in best shape in the World Championship and I'm so sorry I didn't spend the final bout. I had prepared for the bout against Artur Aleksanyan for a long time though last year I defeated him in the World Championship. I wish him a quick recovery. I didn't know he would refuse to fight till the last moment. We already have Olympic qualifications but there is great rivalry at home and we need to overcome this phase. I hope I'll represent Russia at the Olympic Games. I'm ready to do everything to get to Tokyo and win the Games," Musa Evloev said.
