USSR honored weightlifting coach, international judge Arsen Galoyan has passed away aged 92.

In recent years the renowned specialist has been working as a deputy director at the Children and Youth Weightlifting Sports School.

In 1979 Arsen Galoyan was appointed head coach of the Armenia weightlifting team of the USSR team and held the position till 1988.

At the 7th Summer Spartakiad of Peoples of the USSR the Armenia team placed second under his leadership conceding only to the Russia team. At that time Yuri Vardanyan, Oksen Mirzoyan, Vardan Militosyan, Yuri Sargsyan and others were the members of the Armenia team.

Arsen Galoyan’s funeral service will take place at “Matur” Funeral Home on September 4 at 18:00 (Yerevan, 27/34 Fuchik).
