Polish Krakow will probably refuse to host the European Games, Krakow Mayor Jacek Majchrowski has announced.
The capital of the third European Games was chosen during the summit of the European Olympic Committees in Minsk on June 22.
“We don’t have any clear information about the funding of the games that’s why we don’t know if we can afford them. We can’t allow the city to cover the costs of 12 thousand people coming to the European Games,” the mayor said.
Let’s remind Krakow was the only city-candidate. Earlier there were also rumors that Kazan wanted to make a bid but it didn’t send in an application.
