Hovhannes Bachkov at 64 kg became a champion of the 2nd European Games.
In the final bout Bachkov’s opponent was French Sofiane Oumiha whom the Armenian boxer won 3:2.
The boxing competition included in the European Games was held instead of the European Championship, so Hovhannes Bachkov also became a European champion.
Hovhannes Bachkov had entered the ring from the 1/8 finals where had had a confident win 5:0 over Irish James Mc Givern.
In the ¼ final the Armenian boxer had won 5:0 Greek Alexandros Tsanikidis and in the semifinal had defeated 4:1 Netherland’s Enrico Lacruz.
Artur Hovhannisyan (49 kg) also entered the ring on June 30 and won a European Games champion title.
Earlier Karen Tonakanyan (60 kg) and Gor Nersesyan (81 kg) had become bronze medalists.
