Olympic, world and European Greco Roman wrestling champion Arthur Aleksanyan (97 kg) will participate in the European Games to be held in Minsk from June 21 to July 1. Armenia Greco-Roman wrestling team head coach Levon Julfalakyan said at the press conference.
“We won 5 qualifications for the European Games from the European Championship. There will be changes in the lineup going to the European Games. Arthur Aleksanyan will participate in the European Games by 99 % where we will perform at 60, 67, 77, 87 and 97 kg weight classes. From May 9 we’ll start preparing for the European Games and the World Championship. After recovering from an injury Arthur Aleksanyan already takes part in the trainings. He is in fighting spirit. I hope everything will be fine. It was Arthur Aleksanyan’s wish to leave for the USA. It is excluded that our state, the Ministry of Sport or the Olympic Committee wouldn’t fund him. There was a moment when Arthur’s friends invited him, created conditions and he left at will. I hope it won’t be spoken about any more. There can’t be any problems for Arthur Aleksanyan in our country neither on the side of the state nor the Olympic Committee,” noted Levon Julfalakyan.
Let us recall Arthur Aleksanyan misses from the wrestling mat from the World Championship in Budapesht, Hungary of November, 2018.
