At the European Wrestling Championship ending in Bucharest Greco-Roman wrestler Karen Aslanyan (67 kg) won 4:2 Serb Mate Nemesh in the bout for a bronze medal.
Let us recall in the qualification round of 67kg weight class Karen Aslanyan’s rival was Poland’s Gevorg Sahakyan. It was a tough bout; the wrestlers failed to make any trick and Karen lost 0:4 to Gevorg after warnings. Afterwards Sahakyan reached the finals which gave a chance to Aslanyan to continue the struggle for a bronze medal. In the first repechage round Karen Aslanyan gained advantage ahead of time 9:1 over Belarusian Yaroslav Kardash.
Later again ahead of time he won 8:0 Bulgaria’s Konstantin Stas.
Soon Hrant Kalachyan at 72 kg will compete against Croatia’s Dominik Etlinger for bronze.
