Lianna Gyurjyan shared her impressions after ending up in the 4th place at 81 kg at the European Weightlifting Championship coming to an end in Batumi, Georgia.
The 17-year-old athlete registered a total of 217 kg result (97+120). After the snatch Lianna Gyurjyan was the 4th and in the clean and jerk won a small silver medal.
“I’m pleased with my results as I exceeded my previous one. The coaches will assess my performances. I hope in future I’ll win higher medals. I can’t say I’m sad as I have time to achieve better results among seniors. I’ll try to improve myself and move ahead. I’m glad I’ve lived up the coaches’ expectations. I think it is the maximum limit of my capacities at present. I’ve overcome psychological problems with my coaches’ help. I’m thankful to everyone,” – said Lianna Gyurjyan.
Let us recall, 7 athletes competed in this weight class. The title of European champion was taken by Greek Eleni Konstantinidi whose total result was 223kg (97+126). German Nina Shchrot came second with 222 kg (102+120) and Anna Vanberlingen – third with 221 kg (103+118).
