Wrestling International Tournament was held at the wrestling sports school after Ruben Vardanyan devoted to the famous wrestlers of Yerevan States Sports College of Olympic Reserve.
The tournament brought together 120 representatives from Armenia, Georgia, Russia and Poland. Gold medalists became Arthur Galstyan (50kg, Gyumri), Vahe Sargsyan (55kg, Jrvezh), Gevorg Gharibyan (66kg, Gyumri), Armen Hakobyan (71 kg, Kanaker-Zeytun), Mindia Tsulukidze (75kg, Georgia), Nikoloz Kelasov (80kg, Georgia), Maksim Manukyan (85kg, ANOC), Mate Sopadze (98kg, Georgia) and Sandro Dikhaminjia (130 kg, Georgia).
“On the eve it was announced that in the 59kg weight class would come out all those wrestlers who pretended to join the adults’ team for participating in international and qualifying tournaments in future. The other weight classes were free and in indefinite state. The 59kg w.c. young wrestlers Gevorg Gharibyan, Slavik Galstyan and Vazgen Khachatryan made me very happy taking prize places. I wouldn’t say I am pleased with their physical condition but they have a potential, diligence, aspiration and in case of working hard they’ll achieve good results. As for other weight categories there isn’t any young wrestler that I could single out”, said Greco-Roman wrestling team’s head coach Levon Julfalakyan to ANOC.
