Armenia women’s weightlifting team member, Olympic bronze medalist Hripsime Khurshudyan became a European champion.
The European weightlifting Championships are coming to a close in the Norwegian city Forde. In the women’s 75+kg weight class competition Armenia was represented by 2 athletes – Hripsime Khurshudyan and Arpine Dalalyan.
8 weightlifters from Poland, Georgia, Great Britain, Bulgaria and Hungary were competing in this weight class.
In the snatch Hripsime Khurshudyan performed all attempts lifting 107kg, 111kg and 113kg. Khurshudyan managed to conquer a small gold medal.
Another representative of Armenia Arpine Dalalyan held overhead 88kg and 93kg but failed in the third attempt of the snatch.
In the clean and jerk Khurshudyan lifted 133kg in the first attempt and then 137kg becoming a European champion with a total result of 250kg. She also captured another small gold medal.
Arpine Dalalyan lifted only 120kg and with a total result placed 6th.
