First games were played at the 2016 European Individual Chess Championship.

From 8 Armenian representatives Manuel Petrosyan, Samvel Ter-Sahakyan, Zaven Andriasyan, Arman Pashikyan, Hrant Melkumyan, Robert Hovhannisyan and Hovhannes Gabuzyan won the first round, Armenia’s Gabriel Sargsyan drew the game.

This year the European Individual Championship is being held in Gjakova, Kosovo. The championship will end on May 23. It is comprised of 11 rounds.
