Armenia’s Anna Govelyan (53kg) came in first with the double-event of 174kg in subgroup B of the European Weightlifting Championships being held in Forde, Norway.
At the European Championships, Anna Govelyan competed first of the Armenian boxing team. In the first attempt of the snatch Govelyan lifted 75kg, then she managed to lift 78kg but failed to hold the 80kg barbell.
In the first attempt of the clean & jerk the Armenian weightlifter lifted 93kg, then 96kg but couldn’t lift 100kg. With the double-event of 174kg Govelyan leads subgroup B.
9 athletes from Israel, Finland, Lithuania, Azerbaijan, Italy, Netherlands and Norway were competing in subgroup B.
Subgroup A competition starts at 4.25 p.m by local time (6.15 p.m by Yerevan local time).
On April 12 the next weightlifters to fight for medals will be Vanik Avetisyan (69kg), Rostam Karapetyan (both in subgroup A) and Izabella Yaylyan (58kg).
