The Armenian Greco-Roman Wrestling Youth Championship came to a close in Ejmiatsin.
In the last competition day wrestlers of 55kg, 66kg, 84kg and 120kg weight classes contended for the first place.
Ararat Manucharyan (55kg), Malkhas Amoyan (66kg), Koryun Amiryan (84kg) and Edgar Khachatryan (120kg) became gold medalists.
On the eve Sergey Simonyan (50kg), Gevorg Khumaryan (60kg), Arman Baghdasaryan (74kg) and Varsham Makaryan (96kg) became Armenia’s champions.
As the head coach of Armenia’s Greco-Roman wrestling youth team, Armen Babalaryan, noted in a conversation with the ANOC press office, the championship wasn’t full of unexpected events.
“The general participation was normal. There were new names among champions and that was the only unexpected thing. Now the generation changes and the juniors joined the ranks of the young wrestlers showed themselves well. As for their potential and qualities, they will be demonstrated on the international mat”, Babalaryan said.
