Levon Aronian, the leading player of the Armenia chess team, has qualified for the final of the Grand Chess Tour. At the tournament to be held in London from 2-8 December Aronian’s rivals will be world current champion, Norwegian Magnus Carlsen, Chinese Ding Liren and French Maxime Vachier-Lagrave.
The Armenian grandmaster has informed through social media that because of health problems he will miss the FIDE Grand Prix to be held in Jerusalem from 11-24 December.
A few days ago Levon Aronian took part in the Tata Steel Chess India Rapid & Blitz in Kolkata, India which is one of the rounds of the Grand Chess Tour. After 9 rapid chess rounds and 18 blitz chess matches he scored 13 points and took the last, 10th, position.
