On 28 November Moscow Cinema hosted the event dedicated to the 60th anniversary of the foundation of the Children and Youth Boxing School named after Olympic champion, 3-time European boxing champion Vladimir Yengibaryan. The event was attended by Arayik Harutyunyan, the Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport, Hrachya Rostomyan, the Secretary General of the National Olympic Committee of Armenia, Gevorg Lorecyan, the Deputy Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport, Armen Grigoryan, the Adviser to the President of NOC of Armenia, renowned boxers, athletes and coaches. During the event ANOC Secretary General Hrachya Rostomyan made a welcoming speech.
“This school has played a great role not only in sports but has given many politicians who have held high the honor of Armenia. I’d like to wish the new generation to preserve what has been created during these years, to develop the sport at school and to make it worthy of Vladimir Yengibaryan’s name. I hope we will have a new Vladimir Yengibaryan in the Olympic Games,” Hrachya Rostomyan said.
School Director Samvel Gasparyan was awarded an Olympic chain by the NOC of Armenia. Some representatives of boxing world were awarded Vladimir Yengibaryan gold medals.
ANOC President Gagik Tsarukyan. Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport Arayik Harutyunyan, ANOC Secretary General Hrachya Rostomyan, Adviser to the ANOC President Armen Grigoryan and other representatives of sports world were awarded memorial medals of the 60th anniversary of the foundation of the Children and Youth Boxing School named after Vladimir Yengibaryan.
