Gevorg Mkheyan at 70 kg shared his impressions with the ANOC press service after becoming a gold medalist of the Armenian Freestyle Wrestling Championship for the first time.

“The championship was a success, I was feeling good after the first bout, I managed the tricks successfully and I wasn’t so tired,” the wrestler said.

In the final Gevorg Mkheyan had faced Arman Andreasyan to whom he had lost at the Andranik Haroyan Memotial Tournament a few months ago.

“I was wrestling with Arman for the 5th time and the bouts have always been equal, we have won each other with a slight difference of points. My previous defeat made me sober and I began to work on my mistakes and the result was the victory in the Armenian Championship,” Gevorg Mkheyan said.

Let us recall the Armenian Freestyle Wrestling Championship which had been held at Gazprom Armenia Sport Complex from 25-26 November had brought together 75 athletes in 10 weight classes.
