Levon Aronyan, the leading player of the Armenia chess team, performed badly at the Tata Steel Chess India Rapid & Blitz, one of the rounds of the Grand Chess Tour, held in Kolkata, India.
After 9 rapid chess rounds and 18 blitz chess matches the Armenian grandmaster scored 13 points and took the last, 10th, position.
World current champion, Norwegian Magnus Carlsen won the tournament with 27 points, scoring 4 points more than the second place holder, American Hikaru Nakamura.
The Grand Chess Tour final will kick off on 2 December in London.
