Thomas Bach, the president of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) attended the Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) World Conference which was held in Katowice, Poland. He told that the IOC plans to invest much money in the fight against doping.
“The International Federations and National Anti-Doping Organisations need necessary storage facilities to store the collected samples. The IOC is ready to assume the necessary financial obligations. We calculated it will require USD 5 million.
This will be the most extensive pre-Games testing programme of the recent years. The International Federations and the government authorities should have a clear plan to support WADA,” Thomas Bach said.
1700 delegates from all over the world took part in the WADA Conference.
The 32nd Summer Olympic Games will be held in Tokyo from 24 July to 9 August, 2020.
