The Olympic Boxing Task Force has appointed ten Athlete Ambassadors who will lead boxers to the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020.
In each region one female and one male Ambassador will take on the role of engaging with the boxing community. They will also help the Boxing Task Force take into account the athletes’ voice who will take part in the qualification events and the boxing tournament at the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020. The Athlete Ambassadors have to have engaging personalities to be able to communicate with the boxing community, understand their issues and help the Boxing Task Force ensure their memorable participation.
“The purpose of the activity of the Boxing Task Force is to put boxers first. We are delighted with this group of diverse and inspirational Athlete Ambassadors, and look forward to working closely with them to make sure the athletes are not only at the centre of our work, but also actively engaged in it.” Morinari Watanabe, IOC Member and Chair of the Boxing Task Force, said.
