The Armenia team gained advantage 3:1 over the Croatia team celebrating its second win in the second round of the European Team Chess Championship underway in Batumi, Georgia.
Levon Aronyan, Armenia’s leading player, and Arman Pashikyan won while Gabriel Sargsyan and Hayk Martirosyan ended their games in a draw.
The Armenia women’s team tied the clash with the France team, 2:2. Elina Danielyan and Anna Sargsyan succeeded while Lilit Mkrtchyan and Siranush Ghukasyan suffered defeat.
In the third round the Armenia team will compete with the Czech team and the women’s team will face Slovakia.
