On September 20 wrestlers of 70, 74, 92 and 125 kg weight classes will enter the mat at the World Freestyle Wrestling Championship underway in Kazakh capital Nur-Sultan.
Armenia will have 2 representatives who already know their rivals after a draw.
Varuzhan Kajoyan at 74 kg will start the struggle from the 1/16 final where he’ll face Latvia’s Andrius Mazeika. Levan Berianidze at 125 kg will wrestle against Ukraine’s Oleksandr Khotsianivskyi in the qualification round. The 74 and 125 kg weight classes are Olympic therefore wrestlers placing 1-6 will win Tokyo 2020 qualifications.
Let us recall on the first day of competition Arsen Harutyunyan at 57 kg and Vazgen Tevanyan at 65 kg started performing but lost after winning once.
