Slavik Galstyan at 63 kg lost 2:4 in the semifinal of the World Wrestling Championship underway in Nur-Sultan. Galstyan’s rival was Russia’s representative, world current champion, Armenian wrestler Stepan Maryanyan.
Galstyan was winning 2:0 Maryanyan but Russia’s representative got an opportunity to work in the upper part and managed to roll Galstyan. The bout ended 2:3. The Armenian coaches appealed but in vain. The final score of the bout became 2:4.
Before reaching the semifinals Galstyan had had two volitional victories over Azerbaijan’s and Uzbekistan’s representatives.
Norayr Hakhoyan at 55 kg lost the chance to continue the struggle and Malkhas Amoyan at 72 kg will spend a repechage round tomorrow and will try to celebrated his debut in the seniors’ competition with a bronze medal.
On September 15 the following wrestlers will enter the mat: Karen Aslanyan at 67 kg, Artur Shahinyan at 87 kg and Artur Aleksanyan at 97 kg.
