The unhealthy atmosphere around the “Boxing Federation of Armenia” public organization continues causing concern.
The federation operating remotely, especially in recent months, has been serving to the interests of a small group which regularly tries to presents its own problems and the unhealthy atmosphere in boxing rather as an attempt of an external intervention than the means to serve the federation for political purposes.
Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport Arayik Harutyunyan and President of the National Olympic Committee of Armenia Gagik Tsarukyan met in August to discuss the difficult situation created on the eve of the European Youth Championship and World Championship. The parties discussed the unhealthy atmosphere created in Armenian boxing at the same time noting that athletes cannot suffer because of someone’s irresponsible behavior.
A decision was made that the Ministry and NOC of Armenia will organize the participation of our teams in both championships at the highest level in order to give an opportunity to the athletes to continue preparing for Tokyo 2020 during the Olympic qualification period.
The willingness to work together should be an impetus for the federation and boxing world to unite, reject adventures, and bring the federation's work to normal.
