Boxer Artur Hovhannisyan (49 kg) became a champion of the 2nd European Games.

In the final Hovhannisyan fought with Georgian Sakhil Alakhverdovi and celebrated victory, 4:1.

The boxing competition included in the European Games was held instead of the European Championship, so Artur Hovhannisyan also won a European champion title.

Artur Hovhannisyan had started the struggle from the 1/8 finals where had defeated 5:0 Belarusian Yauheni Karmilchyk.

In the ¼ finals Hovhannisyan had fought against Romanian Cosmin Girleanu and had won 4:1 and in the semifinals he had defeated 3:2 Irish Regan Dali.

On June 30 Hovhannes Bachkov (64 kg) will also fight for a gold medalof the European Games. Earlier Karen Tonakanyan (60 kg) and Gor Nersesyan (81 kg) had become bronze medalists.
