The Armenian Championships kicked off at the Children and Youth Fencing School of “Hayastan” sports organization bringing together 140 athletes from Vanadzor, Gyumri and 7 sports schools of Yerevan.

On the first day of the competition men struggled for champion title in the foil event and women in the épée event.

The opening ceremony of the championship was attended by First Deputy Minister of Sport and Youth Affairs Gabriel Ghazaryan and President of the Fencing Federation of Armenia, Armen Grigoryan.

On May 16 finals of épée and smbre among men and foil among women will take place.
