The World Championship being held in Houston, USA comes to an end. Armenia’s men’s weightlifting team member Simon Martirosyan (105kg) placed 5th by the double-event. He snatched 180kg and then could hold over his head 186kg barbell, in the third attempt he failed to lift 191kg.

In this exercise Martirosyan conquered a little bronze medal. In the clean and jerk the Olympic Games champion couldn’t lift 216kg in the first two attempts, in the third time he managed to lift 216kg. Martirosyan took the 5th place by the double-event of 402kg. The winner in this weight class became Aleksander Zaychikov.

In the last competition day super heavyweight Gor Minasyan and Ruben Aleksanyan at 1:00 am and Hripsime Khurshudyan (75+ kg) at 3:30 am will compete.
