Armenia’s men’s and women’s chess teams returned from the European Team Chess Championship. Chess team members Gabriel Sargsyan and Karen Grigoryan returned to Armenia from Iceland led by the team’s head coach Arshak Petrosyan. Levon Aronyan and Hrant Melkumyan after the European Team Chess Championship have left for Germany.

“Of course the rivalry at the European Team Chess Championship was very intense. Even after competition we weren’t sure of taking any prize place. But by additional points we came in second and it was very joyous. I think playing a match is enough to feel you a team member. Being a part of this team is a great honor”, the new team member, Karen Grigoryan told the reporters.

Armenia’s men’s team was the second at the European Team Chess Championship.
