Women gymnasts have started their performances at the Rio Olympic Games.

For the first time in the history of Armenia the first women representative, Houry Gebeshyan, scored 53. 748 points but failed to overcome the qualification round.

A new element will be named after Houry Gebeshyan which she performed during the parallel bars exercise. The element is as follows: before starting the exercise Gebeshyan pushed herself from the first bar and rotating 360 degrees caught the second one.
