Armenia’s weightlifting team member, junior Olympic champion Simon Martirosyan has become the winner of the Junior World Weightlifting Championships with a total of 412kg.

At the Junior World Weightlifting Championships held in Tbilisi, Simon Martirosyan (+105kg) lifted all three attempts in the snatch holding overhead 175kg, 182kg and 187kg and conquered a small gold medal. In the clean and jerk the Junior Olympic champion lifted 210kg, 220kg and 225kg and again captured a small medal. With a total of 412kg, Martirosyan bccame the winner of the Junior World Championships.

At this championship Armenia was represented by Zhorzh Yeghikyan, Davit Hovhannisyan (8th place), Samvel Gasparyan (4th place), Sona Poghosyan (5th place), Arpine Dalalyan (7th place).
